Teesside Racing Car Club has gone through several stages in its life since it was formed as The Cleveland Buggy Club  in the late 1980s. It was formed by its Life-President Mr Humphrey Bloor who had a model shop in Stockton High St..He left Stockton Modeller some years ago and the shop has moved from its original site.

The first track for the club was at an area of waste ground within the Stockton Football Club off Acklam Road in Thornaby. That was an off-road, outdoor track and the club also ran indoors at a number of venues, mainly school halls and on slippy, mixed surface tracks. The club was always busy and on some Friday nights at MacMillan’s Hall there woulkd be in excess of 70 drivers running 4 minute races and still only managing 2 rounds of heats and 1 of finals.
