| The Aces Winternational of 2000 was held at the club warehouse on 5th November 2000. The threat of rain and further flooding caused some drivers some concern but still resulted in a good turn out, especially compared with the outdoor regionals this year. In the end there were 36 contesting the 2WD and 23 in the 4WD finals. There were also 6 racers who WERE NOT IN THE BRCA (wash the keyboard out with soap and water)! But no RallyX- where are you all? The full listings of heats and finals can be seen on our results pages. The main points from the finals were:- 2WD E-final won by Nigel Rothery from Alfie del Aquilla and Liam Davies. D-final won by Stuart Monserrat from Craig Stevenson and Ian Downie. C-final won by Ian Cockerill from Kevin Kitchen and Tom Cockerill. B-final won by James Dixon from Andrew Fox and David Crowther. The A-final was won by pole man Neil Cragg, well ahead of Paul Bradby and Chris Doyle. In 4WD the C-final was won by David Pack from Ian Craig and Malcolm Hebden. The B-final won by Ben Riley from Richard Harper and Peter Craig. The A-final was won again by pole man, this time Luke Sanders, who had an almost uneventful run 8 seconds ahead of David Snee and Adam Skelding. Adam had held TQ for 3 rounds and was looking good for FTQ before Luke pipped him in the last heat. Thanks to all who helped, especially the drivers who in the most part made my job as Race Director very easy by some very good and competitive racing. I only had to issue 2 warnings even if one was when my son Peter was "t-boned" one lap from the end of his heat when on course for a good A-final position. But that's racing as they say. I take my digital camera to every meeting, meaning to get some pictures for the web, but I'm lucky to get even one. For a fuller report, including pictures, direct your browser to Full Throttle. |
