The second round of the 2000/01 "Clubmans series" (1/12th scale) took place over the weekend of 18th/ 19th November 2000 at Teesside's carpet track at "The warehouse".
The Saturday track was a tight twisty circuit more reminiscent of an off-road track than a 12th track. There were 5 heats of 12th cars and a heat each of Eurocars/Hot Rods and Scale Saloons. The turn out from the club was rather pitiful. Only 4 (reducing to 3 due to illness) people had turned out. Hopefully Sunday would be better. Pictures
The format this season is 3 rounds of qualifying followed by 2 legged finals, both counting. This was new to me and meant that all rounds counted in some way. In the finals there is no room for error, a bad run in one round virtually ruins your chances and I can see little advantage over 1 legged finals. At least with 3 legged finals there is a bit more latitude. The event was being run by the BRCA 12th section, not the club. The Plimmers were on duty for the first time this season, just back from New Zealand.
Andy Moore took a dominant FTQ with 41/491.84 from Phil Davies on 40/493.39 and Keith Robertson on 30/484.25.
Local driver (and track designer) Chris Clark just managed the A-final after being dogged by "interference" stemming from a possible faulty receiver.
Hot rod TQ went to Steve Taylor 23/487.98 from Sol Dee 23/493.03 and Helen Wrightson 22/495.23.

V6 Eurocars TQ was Alastair Needham on 30/495.83 from Michael Wrightson 29/499.17.

Peter Craig took TQ in Saloons 22/311.43 from Richard Norris 21/306.75. Liam Davies was having problems on 17/313.18 and decided to try something new for Sunday.
