Absolutely, astonishing. This fantastic contribution of £1,100.00 has stunned me. I am struggling to find a way to express my gratitude for all the effort that has gone into the organising and running of Mikes Endurance Race.
The research in to the cure of this devastating illness relies totally on voluntary funding, usually raised through raffles or by rattling collection boxes for a day on the High Street. Although that sort of fund raising is essential, it is very time consuming and (to my knowledge) never results in a total approaching any thing like £1,100.00. This donation is not only massive: it was achieved without having to stretch the resources of the hard pressed volunteers within the Muscular Dystrophy group. The enormous help thus is, cannot be over emphasised. I don't know if the T.R.C.C. will always be the biggest club : but it will always be the BEST. I am proud to be associated with you all.
