The Club runs its racing under what are primarily BRCA rules, modified as necessary for club racing.
MARDAVE V12. Basic, out the box, set up. simple esc is allowed. standard motors only.
NEW!!! TT01. Standard Tamiya TT01 chassis and kit 540 motor. Rubber tyres only. Hop-ups allowed are the speed tune gear set and ball races only. .
SALOONS (incorporating Trutam, Stock 27T and 19T) saloons can be any BRCA legal chassis with any shell (not necessarily a BRCA approved type) although if many drivers start to use GT shells, we may have to start a new class.
Motors up to 19Turn stock. Any stock motor is allowed with a minimum wind of 19T single, fixed advance. The can must be unmodified (i.e. no repositioning of magnets) and no ball-races allowed. The armature must be marked with the manufacturers sticker denoting the wind. There must be no advance, or retard, in the armature.
Tyre type is free although we will split into foam and rubber classes if numbers allow.
19Turn. As 27T class except rubber tyres only.
MODIFIED saloons as above except that any wind of modified motor, including brushless, can be used. Motor limit is by driver ability only. The only variation to this is if the event is a BRCA competition where a motor limit is enforced.
12th scale as per BRCA regulations, i.e. 4 cell 19T or modified and 6 cell stock. Unless numbers permit, all classes will run together.
F1s, any mods allowed.
OFF ROAD. In competitions, as per BRCA rules. 2WD and 4WD. Club racing has no weight limit, although generally holes drilled in chassis do tend to lead to breakages. You have been warned. Both classes will normally be run together unless numbers permit a good meeting with split classes.
STADIUM TRUCKS. Any 10th electric stadium truck is welcome. No club class rules apply. Will always be run in own race, even if only 1 driver is running.
IC classes as per BRCA.
Meeting regulations.
Booking In
On arriving at the venue, drivers should book in at Race Control as soon as practicable. They should not go onto the track until they are booked in. (unless Race Control is not open)
It is the drivers responsibility to make Race Control aware of which class is being raced, any changes in crystal availability or anything else that could affect the racing.
By booking in to a meeting it is taken as read that a driver accepts the rules laid down by the Club as to the running of the event. If it is found later that a driver cannot, or will not, race in accordance with the rules they will be entitled to a full refund of their entry fee unless they are expelled from the meeting for breech of other rules.
Heats and Finals.
At the appropriate time, those drivers booked in shall be placed in qualifying heats, sorted by Race Class and ability as know to the race Director. A list shall be posted informing the races of their heat, car number and transmitter crystal. Any objections, alterations or errors to these listings must be made to Race Control before racing commences. If so decided by Race Control, alterations may be made to any heat as required to rectify the situation. eg drivers may be moved if an obvious error is found. Anything notified after racing starts will be dealt with as possible.
Any driver booking in after heats have been published will be accepted and placed into a heat. However such heat will depend upon crystal availability only and not on ability. It may be necessary for the late driver to miss a round of qualifying.
In the event of there only being one driver for a heat of any class, it is up to the Race Director to decide, along with any committee members present, how racing will proceed. If practicable the driver should be encouraged to change classes. If they decide not to, the guide-lines below should be followed. In the event of unresolved conflict, the club is NOT obliged to provide a race for the lone driver.
At a Club meeting the "spare" drivers can be placed into another class's heat, trying to minimise any speed and driving differences. eg 12th scale and Trutam probably don't mix, but 12th scale and modified saloons probably do. If there is evidence that the spare car is interfering with the smooth running of the heat, then they will be moved.
(Suggested amendment:- That the driver may use this rule for a maximum of 3 meetings. After that they must either change or not run.)
At a points-scoring meeting there shall be NO mixing of classes in the finals and preferably none in the heats. "Spare" cars will be automatically awarded their maximum points even if they do not run a final, although they will be invited to run if they wish.
After qualifying, finals will be made, usually by the drivers' personal FTQ (fastest time in qualifying). Anyone not wishing to partake in their final should inform Race Control BEFORE finals are made. In a points-scoring meeting, any driver not starting their final will not score any points.
Scrutineering.
Every effort should be made to encourage self scrutineering. There may be meetings where random examination of cars and motors will be carried out. Anyone going against the regulations, or the spirit of the regulations, will be asked to rectify the situation. Failure to comply will result in exclusion from the meeting.
